Survey: Alarming rate of Christian men look at porn, commit adultery

Although I don’t have the strongest confidence in The Barna Group’s ability to produce critically unbiased surveys, this is, no doubt,  a troubling trend within the church today. The proliferation of online pornography is bound to make inroads into the church via unwary individuals who are careless about their online surfing habits. But we cannot blame the pornographers. If there was no demand they wouldn’t be in business. It is well known that men are stimulated by visual images. That is just the way God made us. But does that absolve men from being drawn away by their own lusts? God forbid. Sin is present in our carnal bodies. The flesh seeks its own way. As Paul stated in in   Philippians 4:8   we should devote our minds to higher things.  This takes much discipline to achieve. Lust inducing images are everywhere in America.  You will find them on television, at the movies, in billboard advertising, magazine advertising and more. One would have to wear a blindfold and be led around by the hand to avoid these images.  So it becomes all the more important to seek help from The Lord.   Psalm 119:37   I confess I was ensnared by this evil for years before the Lord delivered me. May God deliver us all from sin.
