Hillary Clinton is now more unpopular than ever

A new Washington Post-ABC News poll out today shows that Hillary Clinton is more unpopular than she has been since she became a public figure over two decades ago.

Fifty-nine percent of registered voters said that they had an unfavorable opinion of Hillary Clinton, while only 38 percent said they viewed Clinton favorably. For those who dislike Hillary Clinton and blanch at the thought of her back in the White House, the Washington Post poll also carries some bad news: The Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump, fares worse than Clinton among registered voters. Sixty percent of registered voters view Trump unfavorably, and only 37 percent view him favorably.

Granted, the difference between how the two candidates are viewed in this poll is very slim — one percentage point — but the Washington Post points out something troubling: “If it weren’t for Trump, in fact, Clinton would be the most unpopular major-party presidential nominee in modern American history.”

Have we reached peak 2016 yet?
