“At Night, We Heard Pregnant Mothers Screaming”
Harrowing stories of forced abortions and corpses fed to dogs are coming out of North Korea ahead of a historic summit between its dictator and President Donald Trump.
Two defectors recently spoke to CBN News about the abuses that they experienced and witnessed in the north Asian country.
Heeon-A Ji escaped to China three times but was sent back to North Korea before she eventually escaped to freedom, according to the report.
Ji said she watched many women being forced to abort their unborn babies in prison labor camps.
“Pregnant women were forced into harsh labor all day,” she said. “At night, we heard pregnant mothers screaming and babies died without ever being able to see their mothers.”
Bo Bin Kim, who also defected from North Korea, said she was forced to abort her unborn baby without an anesthetic.
“My misery did not end with being sold into human trafficking situation,” she told the Christian news outlet. “I was arrested by the Chinese authorities and forcibly repatriated. Then once I was returned to North Korea, I was brutalized by the North Korean state officials, tortured. I was forced to have an abortion without the use of anesthetics.”
To survive in the labor camps, Ji said they ate grass and tree bark. She said they were tortured and some people who died had their bodies fed to dogs.
“For 70 years, starting from September 9, 1948, when the North Korean government was formed to today, countless number of people have been killed, starved to death,” Ji said. “The fact that the genocide has occurred, that the gross violation of human rights has occurred, it must be included in their summit talks.”
She urged American leaders to address North Korea’s numerous human rights abuses at the summit.
“… the Kims are carrying out a vast massacre and it takes a miracle to survive there,” she said.

Reports of forced abortions and other horrifying human rights abuses have been coming out of North Korea for years. One report in 2017 accused a Ponchon security unit leader of ordering officers to stomp on the bellies of repatriated pregnant women to kill their unborn babies.
LifeNews also has reported accounts of infanticide in North Korea.
A United Nations report in 2014 listed numerous human rights abuses in the Asian country, including the systematic murder and persecution of society’s most vulnerable – the unborn, newborns and those with disabilities.
According to the UN report:
North Korean women repatriated from China were forced to undergo abortions if they were found to be pregnant, because it was believed they could be carrying babies conceived by Chinese men. The women are not asked about the ethnicity of the child’s father, the report says.
One witness saw seven women given injections to induce abortions. In most cases, guards at the detention facilities “force either the mother or a third person to kill the baby by drowning it in water or suffocating it by holding a cloth or other item against its face or putting the baby face down so that it cannot breathe,” the report says.
