Demonizing Israel takes center stage Sunday.
On Sunday, officials from 72 countries, including Secretary of State John Kerry, will gather in Paris for the sole purpose of demonizing the state of Israel.
They will simply ignore the hourly atrocities being committed throughout the Islamic world and Africa. Hundreds of thousands have been massacred in Syria and the entire continent of Europe is dealing with a refugee crisis. Iran supports global terror uprisings, and the Islamic State, al Qaeda, and other Sunni jihadi groups continue to slaughter innocents in droves.
Despite these ongoing global atrocities, slamming Israel takes priority this weekend in France.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that the Palestinian terror-supporting governments have “rigged” the conference to push anti-Israel measures.
“It’s a rigged conference, rigged by the Palestinians with French auspices to adopt additional anti-Israel stances,” Netanyahu said Thursday. “This pushes peace backwards. It’s not going to obligate us. It’s a relic of the past. It’s a last gasp of the past before the future sets in,” he added.
French President Francois Hollande has already admitted that the entire purpose for the gathering was to rally support for the two-state solution between Israel and the Palestinians. The two-state solution would grant statehood to a terror-supporting regime in the Palestinian Authority, and a terrorist entity in Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip.
According to a draft proposal set to be approved by the parties at the conference, it “will affirm that the international community ‘will not recognize’ changes to Israel’s pre-1967 lines without agreement by both sides,” the AP reports.
The 1949-1967 lines have been described by Israeli officials as “Auschwitz Borders,” because they are virtually impossible to defend from a security perspective. At multiple points, the 1967 lines are only nine miles wide. This would allow for enemy warplanes or ground-to-air rockets to infiltrate Israeli airspace without a big enough buffer to deter attacks.
The Paris draft also does not recognize the fact that Israel’s border expansion only came as a result of the Jewish state having to defend itself from a pan-Arab regional invasion.
State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Secretary of State John Kerry will attend the conference to defend Israel. However, the claim has raised tremendous skepticism, given the Obama administration’s recent anti-Israel activity at the United Nations. Additionally, Kerry recently dedicated a 90-minute televised speech to castigating Israel and putting them on the same moral footing as the terror-supporting Palestinian regimes.
In December, the White House chose to abstain on a fiercely anti-Israel U.N. resolution that declared Israel’s holiest places and much of its capital of Jerusalem was “occupied Palestinian territory.” Given that the U.S. has veto power over Security Council resolutions, a simple “No” vote would have quashed the anti-Israel resolution. Instead, U.N. Ambassador Samantha Power chose to abstain, and sicced the wolves on the Jewish state.
French officials have admitted that the timing of the peace conference was deliberately scheduled before U.S. President-elect Donald Trump takes office, with the goal of pressuring Trump on Israel.
