Democrats in Philadelphia at the Democratic National Convention at apparently outraged that the Christian-owned and operated Chick-Fil-A has food available for purchase both inside and outside the convention arena.
“That was just really disappointing,” Sacco told TheDCNF. “I would hope that the DNC would be more sensitive in the future. People were not happy about it.”
Democrat delegate Sonya Lewis also said she was not happy about it. Lewis told TheDCNF, “I don’t buy Chick Fil A on purpose.”
Both Lewis and Sacco acknowledged there may be contractual obligations that require the Wells Fargo Center to allow Chick-Fil-A’s food, but both said they disapprove of the fast food company.
“They’re the type of company that closes on Sunday,” Sacco complained, saying that is one reason why “I will never support Chick-Fil-A until they change their ways.”
Years ago abortion activists boycotted Chick-Fil-A while conservatives and others who value free speech and freedom of religious views were patronizing Chick-Fil-A restaurants nationwide to express their support for the chain. The nationwide eat-in responded to liberal protests and boycotts from those that opposed the views the Christian business has taken.
The Democrat convention is not the first time abortion advocates refused food from Chick-Fil-A, as one pro-life advocate attempted to give free Chick-Fil-A sandwiches to Planned Parenthood staffers. They refused to take them.
