Avoiding Temptation

Running headlong through life…reacting to momentary circumstances is a careless, even dangerous way to live. Life should be lived deliberately, contemplatively, introspectively. What do I mean? LIVE YOUR LIFE AS IF YOU MEAN IT. Don’t just be PeeWee Herman and say “I meant to do that!” as you trip over your shoelaces. Check your laces periodically to make sure they are tied and unlikely to make you stumble.

2 Corinthians 13:5

“We must learn by experience to avoid either trains of thought or social situations which for us (not necessarily for everyone) lead to temptations. Like motoring—don’t wait till the last moment before you put on the brakes but put them on, gently and quietly, while the danger is still a good way off.”  C.S. Lewis
